Ingredients

  • 2 slices sturdy bread use bakery sourdough or any bread of your choice
  • 1 garlic clove peeled, for rubbing on toast
  • 1 medium avocado choose a ripe avocado with a slight give when squeezed
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • teaspoon salt adjust to taste
  • teaspoon black pepper freshly cracked, adjust to taste
  • 1 pinch crushed red pepper optional for topping

Directions

  • Toast the bread in a toaster or in a skillet until golden and crisp.
  • Rub the peeled garlic clove over the top of the warm toast, ensuring to cover the surface evenly.
  • Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop out the flesh into a bowl. Add the lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mash the avocado with a fork, leaving it slightly chunky.
  • Spread the mashed avocado mixture evenly over each slice of toast. Top with a pinch of crushed red pepper and sea salt, if desired.
