Our Story
Hi, I’m Katelyn Jefferson, the cook, recipe developer, and writer behind Cooking and Love.
My journey into the culinary world started when I realized how food has the power to bring people together. Growing up in North Carolina, I’ve always had a love for Southern comfort food, but as I explored global flavors, I was inspired to create recipes that combine both comfort and creativity.
After honing my skills through various culinary experiences and connecting with a vibrant community of food lovers, I decided to launch Cooking and Love to share my kitchen adventures with the world. What started as a passion project quickly turned into a growing community of foodies, with a shared love for real, home-cooked meals that inspire connections.

My Focus & Philosophy
Cooking should be about connection, creativity, and confidence in the kitchen. That’s why I’m passionate about sharing:

- Culinary education to help you understand why certain techniques work (not just how to do them).

Community & Teaching
Food is about sharing, and I love engaging with my community of fellow home cooks. I host monthly workshops focused on everything from easy weeknight meals to baking and meal prep tips.
I also volunteer with local food banks, helping families cook healthy meals on a budget, and support initiatives to teach children the joys of home cooking.
