- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed until creamy, about one minute.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually fold the dry mixture into the butter mixture, beating on low speed. Scrape the sides and mix for an additional 30 seconds until fully incorporated.
- Stir in the chocolate chips and chopped walnuts until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2–3 inches apart. Optionally, press a few extra chocolate chips and walnuts on top for a decorative touch.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let cookies rest on the sheets briefly before transferring to a wire rack to cool.
